The Taimani are semi-nomadic, owning land, living in tents in the winter, herding flocks in search of grazing in the warm months. Many live in Pakistan as refugees due to the war with Russia. They are prolific weavers, often commissioned. Motifs are often copied.

As is typical for a Baluch style rug, few dyes are used. Undyed sheep and camel wool provide many of the various colors throughout most of the rug.
