Notes

Bakhtiari are a subgroup of the Lur people.

All Lurs saddlebags have the 2 color striped back, the soumak decorated white "glags" interlocked with the stripes by a serrated edge, the front panels worked in soumak technique with white outlines, knotted pile pile with simple large scale motifs in the bottom and corners.

The white-ground flags on back of weaving contain motifs from Luristani bronzes: animal-heads that were seen in items dated in the early 1st millineum and iron-age "S" motifs.

Sieds could be easily rewrapped to restore bags which could be stuffed with pillow.
