Notes

853. Antique Bakers Rack. This is a bakers rack signed ---“Patent Applied For, National Biscuit Company”. This wonderful old solid oak rack came from a family country store and as the years rolled along it was always used to hold bread although the bread packages changed considerably from all homemade pies and bread to “Wonder Bread” and other store bought breads and pastries. I used it for many years as to grow African violets on, what a swell thing it was because it held many violets and they looked so beautiful on it, then at another time I used it for antique pottery, kitchen bowls, and fun kitchen gadgets. It is so useful for so many things although it does not take up so much space. It measures about ---68 ½” H, 11” deep, and 37” long. It is solid oak and quite heavy for its size. It is signed on the outside bottom of both sides of the wide feet of the rack. One shelf has separated from being one board into two boards and I have just not gotten it glued back, although it does not show or bother anything that is sitting on it as it is a heavy board and stays where you put it. It would be no problem to clamp and glue back. It is in its original unfinished condition (raw oak). It has that great old “Arts and craft”- “Stickley Mission” look and would fit right in with it. This is a hard to find item so don’t let it get away. Thank you for looking and please visit my other furniture auctions and store collectibles.
