This is one of my favourite Hongshan Bird Jade. For lack of a name,will label it as Jade Bird XO (extraordinary). Extraordinary because of following:
01.From another angle, as in 1st.image;it seems to be a bird in flight.
02.The quality is top class Hongshan Jade;note the side profile where it tapers from thick head to a thin tail.
03.Note the characteristic shallow grooves on both the wings.
04.The Jade is Nephrite and is indigenous to the Hongshan Culture locality in Liaoning Province in North East China.
05.Finally there is hole at neck region for attachment.
A powerful and superb Jade of the Hongshan Culture of 5000 years ago of Ancient China.
