Notes

Chinese Cultural Arts love to portray harmony and continuity of prosperity  through the generations and this Ming Dynasty Jade of a Family of Three Buddhist Lions playing with a brocaded Ball is one such example. The two adults and a baby lion represent three generations of Father,Son & Grandson living in harmony and continuing prosperity represented by the brocaded Ball. Aesthetics wise, the multitude of legs shown on the underside image is fascinating. Also note the three pronged tail of the lion. All in all,an auspicious Jade from the Ming Dynasty of China.
