My collecting passion is in Antique Jades and specifically the Archaic Jades i.e. from the Neolithic to the Han Dynasty. This magnificent Crouching Horned Tiger re-affirms my conviction that the Warring States Period premium Jades are mysterious and wonderfully crafted. Note the following:
01.The hunched front shoulders giving the crouched posture a certain springiness and potential kinetic force.
02.The unique design representing 'stripes' on this mythical tiger that is superbly done.There may be what seems like wings on the hind haunches.
03.The lithe & lean overall figure gives the impression of an impressive hunting predator.
An excellent extant mythical beast from Ancient China !!!
