Mostly all neolithic animals are zoomorphic but for convenience usually give it a name and so this is a cute Jade(Nephrite) bear.There is an ox-bow type hole at the back for attachment and also a hole drilled between the legs. From the side view the body bulges out and the arms are folded in front.
This collection of same variety of Nephrite and similar era in the Hongshan Culture took me a long time to form.
