The video upconversion displays a pure digital signal at both 720p or 1080i -- eliminating signal-degrading A/D-D/A conversion, matching the resolution of the HDTV monitor. The HDMI connection includes both digital audio and video signals in one convenient cable. It's DivX Home Theater Certified, for DivX, AVI and MPEG4 playback.
