Early Avery Boxed Balance Gold Scales & Weights c1800s: $48.05

A fine early set of balance scales, boxed with weights (A somewhat mixed set of weights however the larger Troy ounces and 8 drams are a set- and possibly original to the scales? This style of portable balance scale was often to be seen in use on the Goldfields of Central Victoria- and who knows- this set may be a part of the Gold rush history!?

The brass pans are each stamped with a lovely company crest as shown, and the box has a paper label inside lid a shown.

The scales retain their leather tab which is used to hold the scales with thumb and fingers when in use- this rarely survives!  Some light surface rusting would clean off instantly with fine steel wool if desired. Generally excellent as shown.

All domestic parcels are sent by Registered Post (cover up to $100). All international parcels are sent by Australia Post Registered International - this does not include insurance. Insurance can be purchased at an additional cost.
