A MOST IMPRESSIVE PIECE
OF EARLY MEDICAL HISTORY!
Presenting a superb antique brass medical syringe,
with decorative makers coat of arms crest to the brass barrel body.
The makers plate identifies the maker as being Ferris & Co of Bristol.
This impressive syringe has been exceptionally well made
and beautifully finished. Most likely an irrigation syringe of some type,
may have been used for medical or veterinary needs.
The finger grips on either side of the ring pull rotate and swivel,
which is a rather rare feature on an antique syringe,
and may indicate this fabulous piece had a unique function.
We believe this piece to date to the early 1900s.
This antique brass syringe is in exceptional condition
with no dings or losses. The treads for the detachable parts
remain in great condition, with attachments screwing on and off
smoothly and sealing tightly. I have left this syringe in as
found condition, with a light patina that would further clean up and
sparkle if the new owner so desires. Extremely light signs of use evident.
This superb antique brass syringe measures approx 240mms in length,
from tip of attachment to unextended plunger handle.
The body of the syringe measures approx 39mms in diameter.
This is an extremely well engineered medical implement that has
been exceptionally well crafted and made to stand the test of time.
A TRULY GREAT ADDITION TO ANY
EARLY MEDICAL IMPLEMENT COLLECTION!!!
