The last Shang King (King Zhou) committed suicide by burning himself and the royal palace wearing a Suit of Jade. This Jade Suit was composed of multiple small Jades sewn onto a Silk Robe. The Ultimate Status Symbol even at that period. Now the tradition is adjusted for Modern Times by collecting Strings of Preciousness comprising Antique Jades strung up in a row to form a "String of Preciousness."
These "Strings of Preciousness"(DUO BAO CHUAN) can be adorned as follows:
01.Worn on the belt by Gentlemen and also Ladies and the preciousness tugged into the pocket of trousers.
02. Dangling from the handles of shoulder bags of Ladies.
03.Hung in appropriate places in the residence/office to generate auspiciousness.
Other uses limited by your imagination.
For this 2010 Year of the Tiger...the prominent Jade in this String of Preciousness is a Shang Dynasty Jade(Nephrite) Tiger.... but do not look down on the other two antique Jades;one is a neolithic bead probably Liangzhu Culture and what other animal can ride on top of the Tiger but the equally Ferocious Bear of the Zhou Dynasty.
A Strong,Dynamic String of Preciousness for the Powerful Tiger Year.
