Notes

Zhou En Lai(1898 - 1976) was Prime Minister of China during the era of Chairman Mao Zedong. This watercolour painting was specially requested and painted by a Chinese painter friend. Many artists and intellectuals are indebted to Zhou En Lai for their survival during the ordeal of the Cultural Revolution.
