Notes

This Jade plaque was part of a necklace in the Han Dynasty. Note the following:

01. The design is of a stylised bear in cloud pattern form.

02. The Jade is Nephrite and translucent.

03. There is a hole bored from top to bottom for attachment.

04.  These small masterpieces  are very difficult to do,as it needs a completely different set of tools and gripping (vises) system.

The Jade Technology of the ancient Chinese,seems to be more advanced than given credit for.Anyway, visit the Friends of Jade website to expand your scope of Jade knowledge.
