Transformers Fans Find a Home on Itaggit.Com

Site provides a place for fans to organize and share their collections.

AUSTIN, Texas, July 03, 2007 - As interest in Transformers collectibles skyrockets due to today's premiere of the Transformers movie, iTaggit, a site designed for social collecting and personal asset management, offers a home to excited fans and collectors, old and new.

Over the past few months, the popularity of Transformers has soared - eBay has built a separate site devoted specifically to Transformers, and the number of Transformer-related items on eBay has catapulted to more than 11,000.

As a long time collector of action figures and comic books, I've accumulated a number of collectibles, and am excited about the resurgence in Transformers interest
iTaggit has recently released features that make showcasing and storing Transformer collections easy and fun for all collectors who want to display their vintage and modern toys, organize them, and engage (and compete) with other Transformer fanatics. The site also allows members to keep track of the value of these collectibles - values that fluctuate with times and trends.

"As a long time collector of action figures and comic books, I've accumulated a number of collectibles, and am excited about the resurgence in Transformers interest," said Duncan Hopkins, senior vice president of creative and human factor. "It's exciting for us to provide a place for Transformers enthusiasts to build communities and interact with other collectors with common interests."

To make collecting easier, iTaggit recently upgraded the site with a number of new features including:

  • Improved image management and uploading tools.
  • Excel Importer. Members can now import inventory spreadsheets into iTaggit as individual items.
  • Member Blogs. Category-specific blogs allow users to directly post new entries, chronicling their collecting experiences and offering up advice on niche-specific topics.
  • Profile Badges. Members who want to link back to their iTaggit profiles, from emails and sites such as MySpace, can place new iTaggit badges anywhere they have an online presence.
  • AJAX 1.0 Upgrade. This updated framework improves speed, usability, and functionality.
  • Social Tagging. Now people browsing items can add their favorites to Del.icio.us or Digg.
  • Record Exporter. This tool enables members to automatically export items and save them for use with different applications.
