Try to post different gold/gilded items.Though have several ewers but will post this Gold Book titled 24 Paragons of Filial Piety.Filial Piety is the cornerstone of Confucianism and these 24 examples have been passed down through centuries and are recorded in this Gold Book from the Tang Dynasty. 01.Enclosed in own Gold Case. 02.Each example is chased illustrated and scripted on one Gold Alloy sheet. Illustration on upper and script on lower portion of sheets.Altogether will be 24 sheets. 03.Only one example is shown in details in the last few images and is of Shun;one of China's hallowed ancient emperors(23rd.Century B.C.)whose filial piety was such that even elephants come to help him plowed the fields with their tusks and eventually he was the chosen one to succeed Emperor Yao. For those interested in the 24 Paragons of filial piety,there is a very detailed article in the Arts of Asia Vol 27 Number 4 by Virginia Lee Mead. For the Chinese/Asians especially those who follow the teachings of Confucius,the virtue of filial piety is as precious as gold and thus it is appropriate that there is in existence an extant copy in an Illustrated Gold Book from the Tang Dynasty of China.
