A rare and important Jade from Old China. Note the following:
01.Again the unique pattern on body .
02.More unique and unusual is the bird head top of elephant's back.
03.What's is the association/symbolism of the bird on top of the elephant.Seen that association in bronze of the Zhou/Shang Dynasty but not in Jade.
Also the Jade is translucent green and seems not to have a hole for attachment,unless count the hole under beak as one.
Very intriguing and indeed is worthy of furthur research.
