Notes

An unusual Jade Bird with spiked back.Probably of the Late Shang or early Zhou dynasty.Note the following:

01.More in the round than flat,indicating a late Shang or Zhou dating.

02.Incised lines to form false raised lines on designs on wings,legs and tail.

03.Shallow hollow at bottom but no through hole to top of head seems more a late Shang Jade.

04. Translucent and slight yellow Nephrite.

05.Holes at beak and front of legs for attachment.

A fine example of a Late Shang Jade Bird.
