Notes

Something different...a Hexagonal(6-sided) Gold Brush Holder. This item will probably be the property of the Scholar/Minister of the Tang Dynasty.Functional & exclusive, this Gold Brush Holder is exceptional in that the design on all six sides are different although having a common theme of bird, twigs and flowers. The entire decoration is done by chasing including the background of punched miniature circles and then soldered together. The bottom has what seems to be a Buddhist Flower symbol. All in all,a pleasing Gold Alloy Brush Holder that will not look out of place in a modern Chinese Painter/Calligrapher studio.
