An exquisite Gold Gilded container from the Golden Age of Tang Dynasty of China.Note the following:
01.The meticulous craftmanship of the goldsmith in fabricating this small but exquisite container.
02.The design is similar to the Goat Head Container posted earlier but this is on a much smaller scale;only 12 cm tall (5").
03. The aristocratic horse head is marvelouslly hammered out with a chased background of miniature punched circles and floral twigs.The front also have a pair of yin/yang ducks,whilst the back have a pair of geese; both are symbols of marital harmony.
Finally,since it is miniature in size and exquisitely made,will indicate that will be used for containing some precious liquid(elixir),perhaps longevity,medicinal or even aphrodisiac concoctions.
