An unusual Ming Dynasty Yongle pear shaped vase because of following:
01.The Yuhuchun (pear-shaped) vase is incised with floral and leaves with plaintian leaves@ the neck of vase then a cobalt blue is used as the background before covered with glaze then only fired.
02.There is a slip inscription roughly translated as a gift from the Emperor Yongle to a high official surname Chen for services rendered.
03.This type of blue background incised on white biscuit porcelain seems to be used in the early Ming as gifts for Minister and Generals.

Note:The Emperor stated is Jianwen(AD 1399-1402) who ruled for three years only before being replaced/upsurped by Yongle who continue the tradition of giving these type of porcelain as gifts for services rendered.Note also the similarity in calligraphy style of this vase with that auctioned.
