One of the "Twinkle" series of children's books by Laura Bancroft, this little book tells the delightful story of Twinkle and her best friend Chubbins, a chubby little boy, in a prairie dog town. They have wandered away from their small town picnic when they happen upon a prairie dog town, and begin a magical adventure with the prairie dog residents. Children will love this story as they meet Mr. Bowko, the prairie dog mayor, Presto Digi, the town magician, and many other delightful citizens.
Laura Bancroft was a contemporary of L. Frank Baum, author of "The Wizard of Oz". Their books were often advertized together on the back pages as in "You also might enjoy..."
