This sofa was a gift from my Mom's best, Sarah. She was an antique collector, but has passed from cancer. I did not think to ask her about the history of the sofa.

This is a very ornately hand carved wooden sofa. It has definate hand carved chisel marks along the bottom of the wood frame. The floral design is very carefully carved, the lines are defined and not at all made by a machine.

The material is cream colored with pink and gold floral patterns. The upholstery is not in the best condition.

The sofa is very long, yet not terribly heavy, light weight type of wood.

I do not know where to look for a signature, I have looked, but I really do not see anything.

I am having trouble up-loading these photos-

If anyone would like to look at these an might be able to help me ID the sofa, you can reach me via e-mail :   lhatcher11@bellsouth.net   or smith9114@bellsouth.net

Hello,

Yeah, this sofa may be a little hard to find.  However, I will look around and see if there are places you can contact to see if they can guide you in the right direction.  Did you try researching it through our research tool?  Below I have listed steps on how to upload your item into iTaggit.  Once this is done you can go into your item view and click on the Research button.  This will filter out specifics from your description to narrow your search.  In the meantime I will be looking around.

Step 1 –From the Home Page, click on the large green Add Things button, or on the top right side of any page, click the green Add New button.  Once this is done the Add Item Wizard will appear.

Step 2- Select Enter One Item.

Step 3- Type in a name for your item, browse for an image on your hard drive, and upload it’s picture.  Once this is done click Next.

Step 4- Now select a category for your item, and fill whatever fields you wish.  You can also see additional fields by clicking on Show More Fields.

Step 5- Click on Next, and you can add your item to any of the collections.

Step 6- Click Next, and you can add your items to any of your collections.  Now click Next, and you can add another item, edit details on this item, or close the Add Item Wizard.

Ok, so I looked around and found a few places to contact and email to see if they can lead you in the right direction on gathering more information.

Email with picture and description

Check out this web site and write in the forum.  Provide a description like you have above and see if they can give you any information on the sofa.
