Antique Stickley furniture price report from Fontaine's Auction Gallery Gustav
Stickley, brothers L & JG, Mission Oak, Arts and Crafts, whatever
you want to call it, has been red hot with antiques collectors,
dealers and investors for quite a while now.
Stickley furniture
is so popular that I get more requests for it's values and information
on how to sell it, or get the best money for it, than any other brand
of furniture.
That said, I thought would be wise to do occasional price reports on Stickley pieces here in my Examiner column.
I
just got off the phone with Bob Burke the Marketing Director for
Fontaines' Auction Gallery in Pittsfield, MA. This price report is the
result of that conversation as will be more that follow.
I chose
Fontaine's as a source of authority on this price report because they
are one of the best known auction houses in the country for selling not
only Stickley pieces, but the finest in Tiffany Lamps, Early American
Clocks,Victoriana and other fine antiques.
I've also had some
personal contact with John Fontaine the owner and head auctioneer at
the business as he has purchased several lots when in attendance
several of my live auctions in Western MA.
If your thinking of
investing in fine Arts & Crafts items or wish to sell I can
personally recommend the Auction Gallery because, John is a stand up
guy, and as they say in the biz, his checks are good.
