no matter how weird you think you might be there is always someone weirder. every time i go to a convention i come back feeling totally normal. this time i think i'm actually sane now. the attendees at comic-con run the gamut - lots of normal folk who collect a large variety of cool stuff! Then there are the fanboys who are in shirts of their fave heroes from comics or movies standing in long lines to buy the limited edition special something. after that it's starts to get weird. there is the Otaku (fanboys and fangirls) who totall live in another world usually anime fans or comics or even movie buffs.
Ever see the documentary - "trekkies"? if not rent it. these nice folks are something else. just like trek fans wearing klingon headgear the cosplay (costume play) people are about as into it as you can be. i saw people dressed up as all kinds of things in outfits that cost about $5 to put together or some with costumes so real and extravagant they look like they walked out of the movie screen. there is also a few working the booths that are there just to promote a product in some cool outfits. i think my favorite was the stormtrooper elvis. so for everyone at work who thinks i'm totally wierd (i'm just eccentric) you haven't seen anything!
I like the star wars elvis...
