Meet Your Community Manager

Chris

Hi! I'm Chris, one of the new Category Managers at iTaggit! It's been a busy month, with many anticipated releases over the last four weeks: Halo 3, Bruce Springsteen's Magic and Wes Anderson's Darjeeling Limited. With so many new releases coming up, there is some debate about what will show up as the biggest leader. Have an opinion? Blog about it and see what our community thinks. Enjoy the things I have featured this month and don't forget to add your items to iTaggit. If I like your things enough, you may be featured next month!

This Month's Tips

Here are some tips for those of you interested in starting a vinyl record collection
  • Decide what records you want to collect - Most records from the 80s and earlier are available on vinyl, but did you know many albums are still pressed in vinyl today? You might be surprised what's available!
  • Decide where you're going to shop - Vinyl records are available in many places. Try eBay's record section, local resale shops and local record stores. If you still can't find what you're looking for, try looking at the band's and band's record label's websites.
  • If you're buying a used record, make sure it isn't badly scratched or warped. Some of the better record stores will let you sample a record before you buy. It might be wise to invest in a portable record player to try your records at stores that do not provide sampling turntables.
  • As an added bonus, your records can now be converted into MP3s for your convenience by using a USB turntable.
  • And finally, don't forget to upload your records to share with the iTaggit community!
