New GIANT Target Bullseye Dog Released RSS

Total Views: 6,673 Blog Rating:

Just letting everyone know, that Target released a new GIANT Bullseye dogs from their company store a week ago. He was the first Target dog to be larger than 15 inches. This dog is absolutely HUGE!!! He is three feet tall, two and a half wide, and a little over three feet deep. He is truly a giant Big Smile

This was VERY limited in production, and only 20 were produced. My dog is #10 of 20. And at a cost of $70.00 retail, he was allot more expensive than usual.

But just look at him... Isn't he cute?

Just look at how much bigger he is next to the normal sized Target dog...

Chris & Ketzra & Everyone Else,

In case you may be interested in picking up a brand new, freshly minted, three foot tall, "Giant Bullseye" you can for a limited time.  They are currently (Sept. 30, 08) available at Target's Company Store website for $85.  I ordered one over the weekend (Saturday) when 21 were left, and it is now late Tuesday and 17 are currently available.  Needless to say, if you want one, act fast.

Regards,

Peter

Hi, Maryalice3

I too have recently picked up one of these dogs, but must say that its quality is pretty poor compared to the others.

Mine has an enormous tag on its leg that has a 2008 copyright date, so the dog is recent even though it did not appear on bullseyestore.com.  Sadly this one does not have the typical second tag that shows its individual number count and edition size.  The dog also does not have his typical red collar with silver spots, just a gift card holder on a long red ribbon.  More importantly, however, is the material used is cheap and has the texture of a rough velour compared to the previous dogs.  It is obviously made of the same material cut-out patterns as the others, but mine was snarling until I snipped his overly tight nose thread, and the gift card holder was hanging below his feet until I used a push-pin to undo the knot on the ribbon and retie it to a length similar to the earlier card holders.  Also, this holder hangs on a simple red ribbon, not the nice red cords used earlier, and is no longer attached to the dog and can easily slip off, never to be seen again, if the original owner is not careful before selling it to a collector.

The big leg tag says this guy is made by Placom (Qingdao) Arts & Crafts Co. Ltd., which is a new one for me.  Seems like the other manufacturers (all Chinese) like Animal Adventure, Red Pepper Productions, Hewitt & Howe, and Commonwealth Toy & Novelty, who all made high quality dogs, were just not enough.

As for a name, be creative and come up with something appropriate, like:

Candycane dog,

Holiday dog,

Cheap, knock-off, cost-cutting, immitation dog (oops, did I just say that?).

Regards,

Peter
