Want YouTube Videos in Your Item View?

At iTaggit we have always offered the ability for you to embed YouTube videos in your item view. This, of course, required that you go to YouTube, get the embed code, and use the "Enhanced Content" part of the item view to get this done. You can still do it this way to get hand picked YouTube videos in your item view, but now there's an easier way!

All you have to do is go to your item view, click the "Audio and Video" tab, and several videos matching your item will be there, ready for you to watch! In case there aren't any videos that we were able to automatically find for you there is still the option to manually embed a YouTube video, a video from somewhere other than YouTube, or many other widgets from around the internet, all in the "Enhanced Content" section of the item view. This can be found in the "Notes" tab on any item.

New Item View and Updated ValueRange It Feature!

Hi Everyone!

Here at iTaggit we are continually working to make iTaggit a terrific place to upload your favorite comics, books, figurines, movies, and more. To make your experience here even more enjoyable we have just posted two big updates to our site that help with looks and functionality at no cost to you. How does that sound?

New Item View
All items now get a brand new item view! This updated item view features a new look and feel and breaks down our robust item views into easy-to-digest tabs. Everything is now easily accessible via five large and clearly labeled tabs. Items should now load up much faster and should be more SEO-friendly, meaning more people from around the world are more likely to see items you've posted!

Updated ValueRange It Feature
We're working hard to make iTaggit your #1 choice for item value estimates and to make this possible we have posted a few enhancements to our ValueRange It feature. Now you can do a ValueRange It search directly from the homepage and filter by category to make your search more specific. If you do a ValueRange It search from the standalone ValueRange It search page you can filter on category and set a price range for your search. Guests and free members get 3 ValueRange It searches for free and to give everyone a chance to check out our new changes we have reset everyone back down to 0, so you get another 3 searches on us. Pretty cool, isn't it?

More Features Coming Soon
We have more features coming to our site in the next few weeks. On the slate for this week is adding suggested YouTube videos to the item view that are related to the item itself. In the new few weeks we'll be redoing our wrapper and navigation and will show off a totally restyled homepage.

iTaggit Feature Update

As of 3 AM today the live site was updated with new features. Included in this release are the following features:

- Mini-thumbs in the item view - the additional images show up as mini-thumbnails instead of as a filename or number
- Large, editable item name in the item view
- New category chooser - we simplified the category chooser to show all categories on one view and to give the count of public items posted to that category. This should help users quickly identify the appropriate categories for new items and to see which categories are populated
- Improved layout of profile page - made profile pages more readable
Item reordering ability within collections - allows users to set the display order of items in their collections
- Image URL in XLS import tool - when doing an import the user can put in the URL for an image and the image will be imported when the data is. Previously the import required the data to be imported and then the image had to be manually imported later.
